Valentines Day Surprises on a Budget whether you're Single or Attached
58Valentine's Day is almost upon us once more. For some people, it can cause a great deal of stress because they feel immense pressure to spend lots of money and do something extravagant to prove to their other half that they love them. It shouldn't be like that. It shouldn't be a competition. It could be a bit of fun if you treat the day in a light-hearted way and just enjoy it.
There are people out there that I know won't get into a relationship 'officially' before Valentine's Day so that they don't have to face the pressure that comes with the romantic day. It makes them feel awkward and unsure of themselves. It's silly that this is what it's come to for some people. It's not such a big deal! Have fun instead of thinking that you have to declare your undying love for someone that you've only been seeing for a wet week.
If you're single, Valentine's Day can be a bit of a nightmare, but only if you let it! Instead of thinking that you're all alone and everyone has a love life except you, have fun with it. Send a few unsigned Valentine's cards. Maybe you send one to your miserable friend and put a smile on their face or you could even send one to someone that you've had a crush on for a while.
Here's a few ideas of things you can do on Valentine's Day, attached or single. Another bonus...they don't cost that much!
1.) Cook a meal - whether it's for your significant other or a group of friends. Make something delicious that you will all enjoy and doesn't come with the restaurant price tag!
2.) Buy flowers - women love flowers. (if you didn't already know)
3.) Make a card - it doesn't have to be a masterpiece. If your heart is lopsided or your flower drawings are less than pretty, it's the thought, care and time that's been put into it that counts.
4.) Take them for a picnic at lunch - why wait until after work to enjoy Valentine's Day? Go and enjoy the day during your lunch break.
5.) Massage - maybe reserve the more sensual massage for your partner and not for a friend. They might get the wrong idea.
6.) Rent their favourite movie - have a giggle over a comedy with your buddies to cheer you up if you didn't get any cards from secret admirers or keep quiet and pretend to love your partners favourite film.
7.) Bake a cake - everyone likes cake.
8.) Make it a romantic setting - light some candles, put on some soothing music and relax.
9.) Make them a photo slideshow of your best times together - relive the memories and chat about your good times. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your faces.
10.) Compile a play list of your favourite songs - you can dance around and enjoy them.
11.) Make cocktails - this can be fun if you experiment and try new ingredients. You may also get a little bit tipsy! Bonus.
12.) Pretend you're somewhere exotic - put on some Hawaiian music, sip your cocktails, imagine the sun is shining and feel like you're in paradise....aaahhhh....
Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
