Five tips for dealing with a horrible boss

Let's face it, most of us spend the majority of our time at work so if the work environment is an unpleasant one, it makes your life difficult. If a bad boss is the source of your woes, it can be a tough situation to handle. As they are they authority figure, you expect them to be reasonable, knowledgeable and fair. However, this isn't always the case. Here a few tips to help you handle a horrible boss situation.

1.Assess the situation - are you being too sensitive? Do they treat everyone in this way or are they targeting you? Are they doing their job properly? Try to take a neutral look at their actions and figure out what the issue is and how it can potentially be tackled.

2.Find a supportive mentor or colleague - you don't want to start bad mouthing your boss to everyone at the office, this could get you into trouble but if you trust someone at work, quietly have a word with them and see if they feel the same way or if they have noticed the bad behaviour. It's always good to get someone's opinion.

3.Make sure you're doing everything right - If you are doing your job properly, getting on with work and doing what's expected of you, then your boss shouldn't have any issues with you.
